Will PEG300 dissolve RAD140 well?

In the last experiment,  we found that 50ml of PEG400 could completely dissolve 1g of RAD140. So does PEG300 dissolve RAD140 powder better than  PEG400?

PEG300 (Polyethylene glycol 300) is a low molecular weight polyethylene glycol, widely used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries, often as a solvent, thickener and carrier. Due to its low toxicity and good water solubility, PEG300 has great application potential in the preparation of drug solutions. The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the solubility of 1 gram RAD-140 powder in PEG300 and to evaluate its suitability as a solvent.

Experimental procedure

1ml

We follow the same steps to add 1ml PEG300 at first, and see how it mixes?

We can see it is partical dissolving, but there isn’t enough PEG300 solvent yet.

1 1ml result

2ml

We add another 1ml PEG300,  so we have 2ml in total. Gently shake the beaker to mix solution properly. Then we can see RAD140 powder is starting to  dissolve, but it’s still no quite enough.

3ml

Here we got 3ml PEG300 in 1g of RAD140 powder. Now we can see that the solvent has fully surrounded the RAD140 powder.

PEG300 has good solubility for RAD140, most of the powder is already dissolve without stirring.

After we stirring to make sure the PEG300 mixes completely with the RAD140 powder for better dissolution.

As we can see, PEG300 performs quite well. Just 3ml of PEG300 was enough to achieve the clear and transparent solution.

Conclusion

The solubility of RAD-140 in PEG300 is very good. At room temperature, 3ml of PEG300 can be completely dissolved 1g RAD140 raw power. If PEG300 is used to prepare the RAD140 solution, the maximum concentration can reach 300mg/ml. PEG300's good solubility makes it an ideal solvent for RAD140, and any compatible diluent can be added to obtain any desired concentration.
